Traditions

Making gingerbread houses has been a tradition for us for three years now. I did not take the time to make the gingerbread this year because as most of you know I was pretty sick around Christmas. So we just used graham crackers for the house itself. It didn't turn out so well because the boys had a had time cutting them and making them fit together.
Colton did a great job with the "lights" on his house. I think he did the best job with a little help from Dad.
Grason was more into eating the house pieces than creating a masterpiece.
Baylee is obviously not too happy with the outcome of his house!
Another tradition I try to do every year with the boys, is make new ornaments for the Christmas tree. Trying to cut corners again due to my illness, I used a salt dough recipe that you microwave (big mistake). They were pretty dry and wouldn't hold there shape very well. We painted them anyway.
Taylor's was the shape of a clover and he tried to paint it North Carolina colors but I don't think he tried very hard.
Again, I think Colton's ornaments turned out the best. He has patience which is one thing the others boys don't have.
Baylee ended up making about 10 ornaments.
Taylor rolling out and cutting the ornaments.
I had found a cute idea for an ornament in my Family Fun magazine which used cut up paper towel rolls and pipe cleaner. My original intention was to do this as a project at Colton's class party but didn't have enough paper towel rolls to make an ornament for each student so we just did them at home instead.

I think they are a pretty cool ornament for a small cost.
I am so happy Taylor still participated in making the ornaments this year.
Who's was the best?
