Author's Tea

Yesterday Colton had an Author's Tea at his school. It was a beautiful day to listen to 1st graders read to all us parents the stories that they had written themselves. Colton's class was the first class to ever create a "Vocabulator" at his school to help them with their writing. It was a tube filled with pictures of things from the Artic which was what their story was supposed to be based around. So they shook the Vocabulator, which is what his teacher Mrs. Langel is holding, to give them ideas of what to write about.
The subject of their stories was a penguin that lived in the Artic Circle. So they had to write and illustrate a five page book telling the adventures of a penguin.
Colton is a very good reader and has a very good imagination to create wonderful stories. And I have to say, he actually can draw better than I can.
Dad and Grason enjoying the little readers
The kids definitely enjoyed the cookies and tea at the end the most.
